‘Pitch Perfect 3”s Trish Sie To Helm Horror-Comedy ‘Rebecca and Quinn Get Scared’



DFree / Shutterstock.comNew Line has enlisted Trish Sie to direct its upcoming female-fronted horror-comedy ‘Rebecca and Quinn Get Scared’, about two women who leave their lives in New York to open a bed and breakfast in rural Maine, only  to discover that it is haunted.  The script was penned by Cylin Busby and Nanci Katz.  Busby is known for writing the memoir ‘The Year We Disappeared’ and the YA novel ‘The Stranger Game’.  Katz wrote the ABC TV movie ‘Stickfigure’ and rewrote the Lionsgate comedy ‘The Big Bang Theory’ (not that one).  But ‘Rebecca and Quinn Get Scared’ is the first film screenplay from the writing partners.Former choreographer Sie directed ‘Pitch Perfect 3’, ‘Step Up: All In’, and episodes of the Disney series ‘Kirby Buckets’, as well as the OK Go music videos ‘Here It Goes Again’ (the classic clip featuring the band dancing on treadmills), ‘All Is Not Lost’, and ‘Upside Down & Inside Out’.‘Ready Player One”s Donald De Line is producing.‘Rebecca and Quinn Get Scared’ follows two best friends that ditch their overpriced, dead-end lives in New York City to open a bed & breakfast in rural Maine, only to find out that the place is most definitely haunted.New Line’s last horror movie, ‘The Nun’ earned $365 million at the box office.  The studio is gearing up to deliver an untitled third ‘Annabelle’ movie on July 3, and ‘It: Chapter Two’ on September 6.  Gary Dauberman, who wrote the first two ‘Annabelle’ movies, ‘The Nun’ and both chapters of ‘It’ will make his directing debut on the new ‘Annabelle’ picture, which welcomes back Vera Farmiga, Mckenna Grace, and Patrick Wilson.  Andy Muschietti returns to direct ‘It: Chapter Two’, which features returning cast members Bill Skarsgård, Jack Dylan Grazer, Nicholas Hamilton, Chosen Jacobs, Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, and possibly Jackson Robert Scott.  New cast members include Andy Bean, Jessica Chastain, Teach Grant, Bill Hader, James McAvoy, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, Jay Ryan, and Jess Weixler.Source: The Hollywood Reporter Jax MotesJax’s earliest memory is of watching ‘Batman,’ followed shortly by a memory of playing Batman & Robin with a friend, which entailed running outside in just their underwear and towels as capes.
